The Phospholipase B of Liver

چکیده
5. Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) was less inhibitory than ATP when it replaced part of the latter; inosine triphosphate had little inhibitory effect. Over a similar range, increasing concentration of uridine triphosphate produced progressively increasing inhibition. 6. No inhibitory action on the magnesiumactivated myofibrillar ATPase could be demonstrated with myokinase preparations. 7. Ethylenediaminetetraacetate strongly inhibited the magnesium-activated myofibrillar ATPase in concentrations which were only one-twentieth of that of the added magnesium chloride. Calcium activation of the ATPase was much less sensitive to ethylenediaminetetraacetate. 8. These findings are discussed in relation to the relaxation studies by other workers on glycerated muscle fibres.

Background: Insect stings can cause local or systemic reactions that range from mild to fatal, and are among the most common causes of anaphylaxis. The major allergens of honeybee venom are phospholipase A2, hyaluronidase, acid phosphatase, allergen C and melitin. Phospholipase and melitin induce hemolysis, rhabdomyolysis and liver damage due to cell membrane breakdown, damage of the vascular e...
متن کاملSTUDIES ON PHOSPHOLIPASE C FROM MELIA AZADIRACHTA SEEDS
The activity of phospholipase C in crude enzymatic preparation of Melia azadiracht seeds (Neem seeds) was studied by the use of lecithin as a substrate in aqueous medium. The enzyme activity was found optimum at pH 2.5 and temperature 35?C. The phospholipase C was found heat labile, being inactivated 88% within 10 minutes at 90°C
متن کاملSoybean Oil Degumming by Immobilized Phospholipase A1
In the present study, we investigated the ability of an immobilized phospholipase A1 (PLA1) in degumming of soybean oil. The enzyme was immobilized by simple adsorption on bentonite without any further modification. The free and immobilized PLA1 were characterized by Fourier Transform InfraRed (FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The immobilizat...

Dhand, Rajiv, Jared Young, Andelle Teng, Subbiah Krishnasamy, and Nicholas J. Gross. Is dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine a substrate for convertase? Am. J. Physiol. Lung Cell. Mol. Physiol. 278: L19–L24, 2000.—Convertase has homology with carboxylesterases, but its substrate(s) is not known. Accordingly, we determined whether dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC), the major phospholipid in surfac...
متن کاملEvaluation of proteinase and phospholipase activity of Candida albicans strains isolated from the mouth of patients with controlled and uncontrolled diabetes mellitus in Qazvin province: Short Communication
Pathophysiological changes in the mouth of patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) predispose to overgrowth of Candida albicans. Various virulence factors such as proteinase and phospholipase production are involved in the process of degradation of the host cell membrane. These enzymes are involved in binding Candida species, especially in the hyphae stage, to the target tissue. In this study, the...
متن کاملCorrelation Between Patatin-Like Phospholipase Domain-Containing Protein 3 Gene Polymorphisms and Liver Cirrhosis in a Chinese Han Population With Chronic Hepatitis B
BACKGROUND A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing 3 (PNPLA3) genes (rs738409) is associated with the severity of fibrosis and cirrhosis in patients with fatty liver disease. However, in a small group of Italian patients, there was no significant correlation between the rs738409 SNP and hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection-associated liver cirrhosis. ...
